LaTeX中所有数字都应该在数学环境中吗？

问题

在LaTeX中敲论文时，经常会遇到一个问题，比如说“我们有10种方法做xxx”，那么这里的“10”是否应该用数学环境包起来，即“我们有$10$种方法做xxx”？

英文还好，因为数学环境和文本环境中的数字，显示起来一样或差不多。但如果用中文写作，会影响到和两边汉字的间距，而且字体往往也不同，看起来会很不舒服。
