A1-A2 英语学习系列 第四集 中国版

Hello and welcome to this slow English listening for beginners.
Today’s topic is food in China.
After the story, I will ask you some questions to check your understanding.
Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything.
Just listen carefully and try to get the main ideas.
Are you ready? Let’s begin.

Hello, my name is Li Wei and I’m 35 years old.
I’m from China, a country with a long history and many delicious foods.
In China, food is a very important part of our life.
We believe that eating well is good for our health and our happiness.
Food is also a way to bring people together.

In China, the most important meal of the day is dinner.
We usually eat dinner around 6 or 7 in the evening.
Many people eat with their families at home.
Dinner is a time to relax and talk about the day.

For breakfast, Chinese people eat many different things depending on the region.
In the north, we often eat steamed buns, soy milk, or fried dough sticks.
In the south, people may eat rice noodles or congee, which is a kind of rice soup.
Some people also like dumplings in the morning.

For lunch, we usually eat rice or noodles with vegetables, meat or fish.
One popular lunch dish is fried rice.
It is made with rice, eggs, vegetables, and sometimes meat.
Another common dish is noodles with soup.
My favorite lunch is beef noodles.
The soup is warm and tasty, and the noodles are soft and delicious.

Dinner in China is usually the biggest meal.
We often have many dishes on the table.
There is rice, vegetables, meat, and soup.
We like to share food with others, so everyone can try a little bit of everything.
One of my favorite dinner dishes is hot pot.
You cook meat and vegetables in a big pot of boiling soup at the table.
It’s fun and very delicious, especially in winter.

In different parts of China, people eat different foods.
In Sichuan, people love spicy food.
In Guangdong, people like dim sum—small snacks like dumplings and buns.
In the north, we eat more wheat food like noodles and pancakes.
Every place has its own flavors and cooking styles.
Food is a big part of Chinese culture.
We believe that cooking with care and sharing meals brings happiness.
