Ethan的日记5/26
Hey guys, it’s Ethan.
Today is May 26th, 2025. I want to start building my spoken English system by talking about my daily life.
Last night, I made a decision: I’m going to start going to bed at 10 PM and waking up at 6 AM.
Well… I didn’t quite stick to the plan. I went to bed at 10:30 and got up around 7:30 this morning.
Even though I didn’t fully meet my goal, it’s still way healthier than my previous routine.
The first thing I did after waking up was reach for my phone to check how many new likes and followers I got on my Douyin [Chinese TikTok] account overnight.
I gained over 100 new followers, which was really exciting!
After that, I read a new chapter of a web novel that was updated at midnight, and then I finally got out of bed.
First, I took my electric kettle to the kitchen and filled it with water from the tap.
Then I turned it on to boil the water.
While waiting, I filled another pot with water, put it on the stove, turned on the gas, and added two eggs to boil.
After that, I went to the bathroom to wash up.
By the time I finished, the water in the kettle was boiling.
I grabbed a bowl and poured in a mix of walnut powder, sesame powder, dried mulberries, and black bean powder [核桃、芝麻、桑葚、黑豆等混合粉], then added the hot water and stirred it well.
I peeled the two boiled eggs—and that was my breakfast.
While eating, I ordered some groceries online—pork, eggs, tomatoes, and onions.
Right after I finished breakfast, the delivery arrived. Super fast!
I started by cooking some rice.
Then I chopped up two tomatoes, half an onion, and about half a pound of pork.
I put the pork into a bowl, added some oil, salt, and soy sauce, gave it a good mix, and left it to marinate for a while.
Next, I made scrambled eggs with tomato.
I heated the pan, poured in some oil, cracked the eggs and let them cook.
Once the eggs were done, I added the chopped tomatoes and stir-fried them.
Then I threw in the onions, added salt and soy sauce, and let it cook for a few more minutes.
It was super simple. Since I’m the only one eating, it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t taste perfect.
Cooking the pork was even easier.
I just heated some oil in the pan, tossed in the pork, stir-fried it until it was cooked, and added a splash of dark soy sauce for color.
I packed the rice and dishes into disposable lunch boxes, split into two portions—one for lunch at work, and one for dinner after I get home.
I didn’t seal the boxes right away; I let them cool naturally.
Before I leave for work, I’ll close one lid and put the other in the fridge to keep it fresh.
By the time I finished all that, it was already 8:30.
I lay back down in bed for a short rest.
Today is also my credit card payment day, so I paid it off.
My salary has been coming in late these past few months, so I’ve had to rely on my credit card for daily expenses.
At 9:30, I got ready to head to work on my e-scooter.
Before leaving, I did my hair and grabbed my lunchbox, keys, earphones, and phone.
That’s everything I did this morning before heading out.
Most of my mornings are like this.
See you tomorrow!
